long drive home
Aug. 18th, 2005 10:01 pmOk, I left work yesterday at 17.05 and finally walked throught he door
at 21.20. This journey would normally take me about 40 minutes but as
I've now discovered, if they close the M56 it takes considerably
longer.
Apparently there was an abandoned van with suspicious packages in it at the Runcorn services, close to Jct 12 where I would join the motorway. This, due to the current atmosphere, meant that they closed the motorway near that junction, and everything within a several mile vicinity ground to a halt. There were still queues coming into Chester when I arrived at 2100, so I dread to think what time some people got home last night.
If you were another one of the crawling masses then you have my sympathy and my empathy.
