I've got to blog this now or I may well re-read this in the morning and just bin it. But I could do with knowing if the last two hours have been wasted or not.

Dragons: A lament )

Any and all comments and opinions gratefully recieved. Be cruel, be kind, but most of all, please be honest.

very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

I hope that you all get what you wish for and that next year is the best you've ever known.

And before I go,  a present that hadn't thought I'd be able to deliver on time due to lack of inspirations. but here it is,fresh off the word processor, [livejournal.com profile] trixie_chick's story present!

A sorta fairytale (sorta) )

Hope you enjoy it Trixie ;)

Probably about right ;)

Ok, been thinking about this for a while but have only just got up the courage to try it.

                                Story Presents for Christmas!

No, I'm not being very cheap, this is just for people reading this LJ (Family will get a stocking full of coal and pig knuckles as per usual ;>) . Some of the other LJ's I read are written by fanfic writers who produce great stories (Take a bow [livejournal.com profile] trixie_chick and [livejournal.com profile] bwinter) and so I've been inspired to try and create more stories of my own. What I'm after from you would be a quote, song lyric, verse, etc for me to hang the story on, and any other detail requests such as location or style. I'm not looking to write for any particular fandoms or known characters but if you have a particular request then make sure I know the characters (kinda helpful) amd ask away. Stories will only be short little vignettes (probably), unless I get on a roll (unlikely) when they could be any length.
I've been wanting to get back writing for a while but have lacked the impetus and ideas. Hopefully, this will provide both. For curiosities sake and to so you can know what you might be getting I'll put some old stories behind cuts for your perusal. These all have christian themes to them (what with me being a christian and all) but the requested new stories won't have unless you ask for it.

Dear Times )

Like Lightning from Heaven )
Alternative Parables: Prodigal Son )

 Hope you liked them.

I'm away for the weekend in sunny Wales, so I'll start any requests on Monday (assuming some have come in) and I'll try and get them written before Christmas at the very latest, but hopefully much before.

Oh yes, last thing. This has to be a parody site, doesn't it? Either way, this t-shirt had me in hysterics.

This caught my attention and since I've just watched 'The Matrix' again it seemed kind of appropriate.

SF meme )

Interesting to see how many of the (so-called) influential films I've seen and of them, how many I'd still lilke to own. but then I always was greedy ;>

On to home news, Anna and I are about to be offered the (red?) right hand of friendship at church as we have been accepted into membership.

Hmm, guess this means I'm about to become a Baptist! So far in my christian lilfe I've been non-denominational, with my church's being of an independant nature. Not that it really makes any difference but it feels a little . . . odd? Really not sure why though and it's definitly not in a bad way. I guess it's not something I'd ever really given a great deal of thought to.

Finished Neil Gaimans 'Anansi Boys' last night and have to say . . . Anansi boys review )

Now I've finished 'Anansi Boys' though, I really, really want to tell stories again. I just havn't had an original idea since about sometime in '97 and it was even longer ago that I sat down and told a group of kids a story (the best time I had doing that was telling watered down Sandman stories at a bible week in Scotland. Me and the kids had a blast). I am going to have to do something about this, I'm just not sure what? (Suggestions on a post card to . . .)
