First off to mention, I've started posting to [community profile] photographers  to get some feedback on my pictures and to hopefully pick up some tips and tricks to help me improve. I'm also watching [profile] photographie  and [community profile] abandonedplaces  with a thought to posting there too. [community profile] abandonedplaces  has really peaked my interest though since it is full of picks of the kind of ruined and derelict buildings I like to photograph.

Next on the list (and following the theme, kind of) is a photo meme, swiped from [personal profile] trixie_chick

Ask me to take pictures of any aspect of my life that you're interested in/curious about -- it can be anything from my favourite top to my cell phone to my brand new knickers boxers. Leave your requests as a comment to this entry, I'll snap the pictures and post them back here. It's like a glimpse into my insanity.

Comment with a request and I'll provide the pics in a later post.

Thirdly, because of the enthusiastic ravings of [personal profile] greygirlbeast , I've signed up with Second Life and started to sink time into another life as well as the one I'm already living! I'm really not sure how long I'll play at this, since I don't have the time to invest in it (and I really suck at building and scripting, so I'm not likely yo be able to support myself there) plus, I've already achieved my main aim of joining, saying hi to Dr.Nareth Nishi. The good doctor being [personal profile] greygirlbeast 's avatar in SL, of course.
I really don't do celebrity but once I'd travelled to the town of New Babbage, where she has a rented apartment, it took me 10 minutes of manic wandering to get up the nerve to ask to go in and say hello (despite an open invite in her LJ for people to come visit). She was a wonderfully courteous host and a very enjoyable conversation was had, even if my hands where shaking as I typed and I was desperately trying to come up with anything interesting to say (why does your brain always shut down, just at the point that you need it most? Why?).
So having 'spoken' with one of my favourite authors, I'm not sure how much I'll go back. But in the meantime, if you're there and see someone like this, do come and say hi.

decay photo's.

Take a look at www.opacity.us for some awesome abandoned photo buildings. Some of them were also taken in the UK so with some courage and trespassing skills, you too could take some great photo's :-)
The closest I got to an abandoned photo was my R2d2 photo http://www.flickr.com/photos/absoblogginlutely/184791055/

Odd, tried to look at Opacity but I'm just getting a blank white page. Will try it again later. Another good site is 28 Days Later (http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/index.php), these guys get everywhere.

They are definitely R2's big brothers! Who knew that George Lucas brainstormed in Ohio ;)

Yup, I checked back and am now thinking of planning a trip to Denbyshire Hospital.

(just checked the site and it's down again, they're not having much luck at the moment)
