Well, my shift has been a wonderfully quiet one (hopefully not speaking too soon) and so I'm getting the chance to wish everyone a Very Happy New Year!
and to put up a review of the year meme swiped from bwinter
1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Began (and kept up) my Live Journal
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I can’t even remember if I made any last year and so I doubt that I’ll bother this year
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No one really, really close to me, but some new friends and some old friends did

Greater focus and concentration, a job that I haven’t been doing for the last ten years
7. What date(s) from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
No dates in particular, I have an awful memory for things like dates
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Being a good husband (at least I think I have been, ask graceunplugged to find out) Not smashing up the new computer system at work. Writing my first story in several years
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not finding myself a job that I’ll be happy doing

Once again I kept a clean sheet on the illness front

My new Scary-go-Round t-shirt
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Liverpool Football team, Champions of Europe (Ok, so I’m reaching a bit there)
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The media in general, even if I should know better by now. Some of the people who make the decisions at work, changing and implementing things that they have no real appreciation of and apparently not caring about the results since it doesn’t actually effect them.
14. Where did most of your money go?
On the mortgage and keeping the cars on the road L but other than that on books and dvd’s

Serenity, Revenge of the Sith (even though I knew better)
16. What song will always remind you of 2005?
Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Not much change really
ii. thinner or fatter? Most likely fatter, it’s been a long time since I weighed myself.
iii. richer or poorer? Poorer, bloomin cars!
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Taken more photo’s, been more creative generally
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Teen Titans, Clone Wars, Doctor Who, Bleak House, House, any of the CSI’s (yes, I do watch far too much tv)
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No. I don’t really carry grudges, they’re not worth the trouble

Sharing it with Anna

The same as every year, scruffy but comfortable

Sane?

The guys in my church dicipleship group, fast becoming good friends
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
A computer system provided by a company that "performed well at presentation and was the lowest bidder" really can ruin a good job and isn’t worth a $#@%
(Edit. Me and my big mouth! I got as far as 'review of the year' and the phone went. I really will never learn)
